Google Ads New Update Data Protection September 2021

On September 27, 2021, we will be updating the Google Ads Data Processing Terms, Google Ads Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms, and Google Measurement Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms. As part of these changes, we will incorporate the new versions of the Standard Contractual Clauses (“SCCs”) issued by the European Commission on June 4, 2021, which are used to legitimize international transfers of personal data under the GDPR. The new SCCs replace the clauses previously issued by the European Commission and offered by Google as Model Contract Clauses.

What happens next?
If you accept the Google Ads Data Processing Terms, Google Ads Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms, and/or Google Measurement Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms (either directly or by accepting the terms for a Google service that incorporates them) on or after September 27, 2021, these updates will apply to your use of the relevant service(s) immediately.

If you accept(ed) the Google Ads Data Processing Terms, Google Ads Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms, and/or Google Measurement Controller-Controller Data Protection Terms (either directly or by accepting the terms for a Google service that incorporates them) before September 27, 2021, these updates will apply to your use of the relevant service(s) from October 27, 2021, onwards.
